This small home near theChristie Pits Park was a pleasure to work on. The existing first floor plan was a division of the kitchen, living, dinning and the hallway and the client and his designer wanted to modify it and have an open concept layout.
In the photos below you can see the existing hallway. We removed those 2 walls which ran from the back of the house to the front. There was no need for a column because we installed an LBM beam across the ceiling. At the end the first floor looks more spacious.
After the demolition we realized we needed new wiring and we had Alex from Fairman Electric come to finish it off.
We replaced the stairs for new white oak stairs as shown below, steel pickets and wood handrail. There was no washroom in the main floor so we had to do the plumbing and draining for a little washroom in the newly renovated living room.
